Carlyon Bay

Two environmental groups joined forces at the weekend to run a beach clean and underwater littler pick at Carlyon Bay.

Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) teamed up with volunteers from Dive Against Debris as part of the SAS Big Spring Beach Clean, which aims to raise awareness of debris and litter on our beaches and in our seas.

Despite the drizzle 29 hardy volunteers turned up on the day, collecting 36kg of debris over the course of four hours.

Debris was also found washed up on the shoreline, and trapped in the rocks along on the beach.
