Why Lansallos Beach?
Last year on this dive such a good time was had by all, that the concept for Dive Against Debris Volunteers UK was born. Lansallos is a very pretty shore dive site, unfortunately, the right-hand side though, due to currents it gets full of plastic debris. Normally access is an issue for diving, with a 3/4-mile hike across countryside. However, the National Trust will transport our dive gear across the fields using a 4×4. The plan is to do two dives, then a BBQ, followed by camping on an idyllic (albeit basic) National Trust campsite. This is a free event, just bring some food to throw on the BBQ and your own refreshments. We meet at the National Trust Lansallos car park postcode: PL13 2PX
Non-diving volunteers to help on the shore with cataloguing, BBQ, beach clean and organising would be much appreciated.
