Port Gaverne – Great British Spring Clean – 4th March 2017 **updated**

Due to bad weather reports for this weekend, it is not possible to do the diving side of things on Saturday.
However, the Beach Clean up will still be going ahead even though its going to be wet and windy! Hope to see some of you there 🙂
Roll up.. Roll up… Fathoms Free will be doing a joint initiative event on Saturday 4th March 2017 with The National Trust, Keep Britain Tidy and Cornwall Wildlife Trust. SeaSearch will also be there for the first SeaSearch dive of the year www.seasearch.org.uk
We will be doing a Dive for Debris/Ghost Gear for the scuba divers (hopefully with lots of baby lobster releases courtesy of The National Lobster Hatchery) and Beach Cleaners

Venue: Port Gaverne Beach, (near Port Isaac), Cornwall PL29 3SQ
Time: Beach clean (public) – 10am to 2pm
Time: Divers *** (CANCELLED) *** – to be on site & meet for 8.30am (high tide is at 9.20am)
Meeting point: Entrance to the beach
Directions: Port Gaverne is approximately 10 miles from Wadebridge and 17 miles from Bodmin. Approach Wadebridge on the A389 (from Bodmin) or the A39. At Wadebridge take the B3314 and proceed on the B3314 and turn left on the B3267 signposted to Port Isaac.
Facilities: Please note there no facilities on the beach itself, but there is an Inn just a minute away for refreshments
Dogs are allowed on Port Gaverne beach.
Parking: There are about 5 free spaces next to the beach, otherwise please use the Port Isaac car park below. Divers may need to drop their kit off at the beach and then park in the Cornwall Council car park.
Port Isaac car park, New Road PL29 3SB (4 minute walk to the beach).

Gloves and bags will be provided for all taking part.
All litter collected, so it can be weighed and sorted, so as much as possible can be recycled

All divers from Fathoms Free are asked to meet onsite at 8.30am, Rob will be your main contact and will brief everyone on site. High tide is at 9.20am.
There will be just the one dive.

General info if you haven’t been to one of our diving events before!
- Divers need to be suitably qualified individuals, deemed to be adequately experienced or appropriately supervised
- Divers need to (and evidence) to Fathoms Free that they have their own valid public liability insurance
- Bring your own full dive kit (if you do need any additional kit, please contact us, we maybe able to put you in touch with someone who can help) ie Air fill or Cylinder Hire etc
- Bring your own divers net bag/knife/scissors/smb/gloves/qualification cert cards
- Enough air for one dive per day (will only be doing one dive due to tides)
